Inscriptions

Inscriptions?

An inscription refers to the act of storing data directly on the Bitcoin blockchain. In the context of the Ordinals Protocol, an inscription is a data package that can be attached to Bitcoin's smallest unit, satoshis (sats). It allows for the storage of up to 4MB of data within the blockchain, similar to an NFT but with the distinction of being completely on-chain. Inscriptions, whether regular or recursive, provide a means to preserve and interlink data within the Bitcoin network, expanding the possibilities for data storage and utilization.
